UNAIR NEWS “Every student must have a wish to get scholarships, domestic or abroad. Most student must compete to get a scholarship due to a limited quota.Looking at those facts, the Campus Internal Ministry of Student Executive Board of 51¶¯Âþ (BEM UNAIR), held a Scholarship Seminar and Expo Airlangga (SEMPOA) to help the students realize their dream of getting scholarships.
“We think the seminar on scholarship is still rare, but there is a great demand.So by holding this event we can inform how to get a scholarship from people who got it, “said Illiyin as head of the organizer.
By inviting three speakers namely Akhmad Afrizal AMd (Rectorate Scholarship recipient and Korea and Malaysia Exchange), Febby Risti Widjayanta, SIP., MSc (FISIP Alumni, LPDP Awardee for Master™s Scholarship at University of Manchester), and Retno Pusalia (LPDP Institution).The event was attended by 400 participants, both from inside and outside UNAIR.
The enthusiasm of the participants was so remarkable considering the event was held on Saturday, November 4. There was not only a seminar but also the scholarship expo that made the participants know better about scholarship.In the expo there were eleven booths that provided scholarships and students who have got it.The eleven booths were PT.Perusahaan Gas Negara, Marga Pembangunan Jaya Foundation Scholarship, Salim Foundation Scholarship, BCA Scholarship, PT.Suwitomo Scholarship, Bakti Nusa, Bank Indonesia Scholarship, BRI Fajar Scholarship, XL Scholarship, KSE Scholarship.
“So far we have not found any significant obstacles either in preparation or during the event.Our hope is that our friends who have the goal of getting a scholarship can realize it because they can ask directly to people who have received the scholarship,” added the student of Faculty of Vocational Studies.
After following SEMPOA, students are expected to be more optimistic to get a scholarship because they have got tips and tricks from the speakers and recipients of the scholarship.
