BEM UNAIR “ Seribu Senyum Foundation Support Young Sociopreneurship

UNAIR NEWS – In order tofacilitate students and college students with high business and social spirit, BEM 2018 through Ministry of Community Service collaborates with Seribu Senyum Foundation organized Student Sociopreneur Camp (SSC) 2018. It was themed “Make Change With Your Action ” and attended by more than 40 students and students from various regions.

SSC events was opened with a seminar on Sunday, September 9.It was attended by Galuh Teja Sakti, Fahd Pahdepie, author and young entrepreneur as speaker and Nita Liana, former Newscaster of NET.TV as moderator.It was followed with various activities from writing and videography class,living inthe community in the assisted villages, Sulung and Keputih, to the mobilization of participants tocamplocationsin Agro Mulia, Prigen, Pasuruan to learn about social business analysis methods.

Fuad Fahmi Hasan, Director of Seribu Senyum Foundation explained, sociopreneur is not only profit oriented, but rather, things done can benefit the surrounding environment.

“The goal in this activity is encouraging students to have ideas for business, and then there will be an awarding session to participants with good ideas, to be given capital and assistance until the business run and managed,” explained Fuad.

Galuh Teja Sakti, President of 2018 UNAIR BEM in his speech explained that the main requirement to be a great sociopreneur is high responsibility and willingness to develop soft skills.

“The world will become more meaningful if individuals in this world are not just seeking profit.Like the concept in sociopreneur that is notsolelyforprofitseeking, but the activities carried out must also have a positive impact on the surrounding environment,” explained Teja.

Meanwhile, as a representative of BEM, Candra Rizal Sabili,the eventproducer of SSC activity hoped the participants could apply sociopreneur with the right target, alleviate social inequality, and overcome poverty around the environment.

“With this series of SSC events, it is expected to foster a critical way of thinking for young people about the problems that exist in the surrounding environment and can help provide solutions to these problems so that there will not be a sustainable economic gap,” Candra concluded.
