So far, apart from lecturing and holding Chairman of Clinical Microbiology Program at FK, the participant of Exchange Scientist Program : Enteropathogenic Bacteria : Its Pathogenic Mechanism(S) Okinawa, 1991听also works at RSUD dr Soetomo. His service in microbiology is undisputed. He has produced lots of scientific publications as well as seminar papers which serve as reference in microbiology science in Indonesia.
Eddy Bagus said, the prospect of Microbiology sector in Indonesia was vast. The resources were immense especially on massive natural resources. With proper management, everything could be maximized.
淎 microbiology scientist or practitioner is responsible not only for describing a disease caused by microbe. He or she must be able to find the preventive actions and the medication, he said.
The writer of eight books pointed out, devotees of this discipline was rising significantly. It is barely surprising since problems arising from microbiology, especially diseases caused by it, are mounting. Kinds and types of diseases resulted from virus, fungus, and bacterium keep growing. And even more than that, they are more difficult to handle. It is quite a challenge for microbiologists. On the other hand, the phenomena have absorbed people檚 interests they want to know more about it.
According to the author of 15 international publications during the period of 1993-2016, there are some supportive aspects in developing Microbiology. Some of those aspects are: human resources (brainware), facilities (hardware), method, and budget. These four elements must be proportionally present for the big plan to become reality. The synergy of each policy holder becomes very important.
Undeniably, the thought of the 2009 UNAIR doctoral program research proposal reviewer and 2010 national strategic research proposal is brilliant. His actions in the world of education, research and civil service are real and applicable. It檚 not surprising then that the father of one child often receives honors. Some of them are: model lecturer III Microbiology and Parasitology FK UNAIR 1982, model lecturer III FK UNAIR 1990, Satya Lencana Karya Satya XX RI President 1998, and Sudjono Djuned Pusponegoro Honor as 2001 Scientific Author in Medicine Discipline.
The Professor is also active in supervising S1, S2, as well as S3 students finishing their final assignment. From 2006 until now, he has supervised 21 S1 students. Whereas from 1994 until now, he has supervised 79 S2/Specialists. While in doctoral degree, he has supervised 20 students from 1998 to 2016. (*)
