UNAIR NEWS “ During the college life, students are often faced and deal with social problems in their environment.This is in line with the mandate of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi which is held by the university, which is to carry out education, research, and community service.
That was what experienced by Rizky Ananda Putra, the founder of the Laskar Pahlawan community.Together with his colleagues, Rizky initiated Laskar Pahlawan because he was moved to instill a character building in elementary to high school students.
This community does not only teach the material tested for exams but also teaches character building.Character building is done in a fun way, like telling inspirational stories and showing videos containing social values.
In the weekly agenda held every Friday, the activities include homework, school material discussion and then continued with the educational values ‹‹using the media, such as Youtube, film, or inspirational book review.The activity is for elementary and junior high school children.
“For the monthly agenda, we share inspiring stories through characters’ stories and also provide educational games.Alhamdulillah, we have established cooperation with one company, “said Rizky who is served as Head of BEM FEB UNAIR.
Running for one year, this community had experienced obstacles.Although it was not a significant constraint, Rizky said that the limited teachers had become a problem for this community.The reason, most of the teachers are students who have high positions on campus.Thus, they are preoccupied with various activities.However, it is minimized by inviting some volunteers.
“It is good to see the young students coming together and being present before the teacher comes.The spirit of learning makes us happy.But it is unfortunate when the teachers are busywith theiractivities in their campuses, “he said.
Currently, the core team of teachers comes from Rizky colleagues who are members of an organization.He said, to anyone who is willing to join will be happy to accept them.He hoped that teachers in Laskar Pahlawan will increase.In fact he aspires to provide one student one teacher facility.(*)
