UNAIR NEWS“ Out of curiosity and interest, nine students from several high schools in Pontianak independently visited 51¶¯Âþ on Friday, December 15. They wanted to know more about the state universities (PTN) in Java made them disregard distance and money.
The students arrived in Surabaya on Thursday, December 14.They came from SMAN 2 Pontianak, SMAN 3 Pontianak, SMAN 4 Pontianak, and SMK 3 Pontianak.During the visit, the students were welcomed by UNAIR Information and Public Relations Center (PIH).
“We came from Pontianak yesterday (Thursday Dec 14, ed),” said Kyanda Fardhan Samoedra, one of the students of SMAN 3 Pontianak.
During the visit, the students were given an explanation about UNAIR, from the procedures or stages of admission, lists of available majors, scholarship information, student activities, to facilities for students.
Kyanda was with some friends who really wanted to know the state universities (PTN) in Java, especially 51¶¯Âþ.They sought information about UNAIR as much as possible.Furthermore, the information will be shared with their friends in Pontianak.
“Although only representatives, we also bring questions from other friends who have not had the opportunity to visit UNAIR.Information on registration, majors, student activities, as well as some facilities available here (UNAIR, ed), “explained Kyanda.
They were enthusiastically following the presentation in Room 303 Management Office Building, Campus C UNAIR, the students are very enthusiastic to follow the explanation.Some of them looked serious and took notes the important things and asking questions.
At the end, they hoped to be able to continue higher education in UNAIR including other friends in other regions.“Because, in our area (Pontianak, ed) there is only one PTN, Tanjungpura University Pontianak.Hopefully with this visit, some of our other friends (in the area) can open their mind also be motivated to continue education in Java, “said Kyanda.
“In fact, some of us are still class XI.However, our education should be prepared from now on.And, we know that education in Java is more advanced with our region, ” he added.(*)
