For muslims, Eid-ul-Adha always reminds them the important lesson especially on the love to Allah, the Creator of All. This time, UNAIR News covered the sermon of Eid-ul-Adha prayer in Ulul Azmi Mosque Campus C, on Friday, September 1.
Dr. KH. M. Shodiq, M.Si., from Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Ampel Surabaya delivered the sermon. He encouraged the congregation to understand the meaning of takbirs.
淚f we understand profoundly the meaning of Allahu Akbarwhich means Allah The Greatest, it is obvious that everything but Allah is small. Our wealth, position and and everything else are nothing in front of God, explained Shodiq.
Shodiq also invited the congregation to look back the story of Prophet Ibrahim.
淭his celebration cannot be separated from the story of Prophet Ibrahim and his family. A story of obedient family to Allah. It is also related to hajj pilgrimage rites, said the khatib.
Shodiq encouraged the attending congregation to remain vigilance towards deception of satan. It will never stop to deceive humans. In Prophet Ibrahim story, the satan tried to deceive the prophet when he was going to sacrifice his son, Prophet Ismail.
淲hen he was going to do Allah檚 command. Prophet Ibrahim was deceived not to do sacrifice his son. The prophet then pray and hit the satan with a stone. It still done during hajj pilgrimage rituals, he explained.
In this end of his sermon, he reminded the congregation to follow the examples of obedient families to Allah, such as the Prophet Ibrahim檚.
淚f you want to be safe, follow the examples of Prophte Ibrahim檚 family. One family fought the satan, the bad deeds and voiced the truth, he said.
