UNAIR NEWS Marriage, especially among the young generation, remains an interesting topic of discussion. From those who support early marriage to those who are against it, everyone has their own perspective. In the Kampoeng Ramadhan study session on Sunday, March 1, 2026, this discourse became the main topic.

淭here are several types of young people viewing marriage nowadays . The first type is the overthinker, the second is the relaxed type, and the last is the perfectionist, said Prof Iman Harymawan SE MBA PhD, Head of the Center for Environmental, Social, and Governance Studies (CESGS) at 51动漫 (UNAIR), as the speaker.

Prof. Harymawan continued that misinterpretations of marriage are prone to happen. This aligns with his explanation regarding the tagline opposing early marriage, which is believed to take away personal freedom. 淎s a researcher, I have not yet found evidence that early marriage can take away freedom, he said at Nuruzzaman Mosque, Dharmawangsa-B Campus.

Prof. Harymawan added that healthy love and marriage must begin with careful preparation. In addition, project management in decision-making also needs attention.

淭hose who do not have structured project management will see information without understanding its meaning first, for example, the phenomenon of early marriage. In fact, personal readiness is very important before starting a marriage, even if one intends to marry at a young age, Prof. Harymawan added.

Before marriage, an individual needs solid self-awareness, especially concerning fundamental aspects of their personality. Ario Muhammad PhD, the second speaker, explained that an individual檚 vision and mission are essential before getting married.

淚n this era, if someone wants to marry you with only sweet promises, just reject it. A person檚 vision and mission will determine their personality before and after marriage, said the CEO and Founder of Edufic & Main Nalar.

He also emphasized the importance of self-control and proper emotional management. According to him, before meeting a partner, a person should at least have control over these two aspects.

Through collaboration with Komunitas Belajar Asyik Klasik Zone and Pendidikan Lestari Kampoeng Steak, CESGS UNAIR hopes that the activity can benefit the audience. It also aims to provide insights on healthy marriage while supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 3: Good Health and Well-being.
