UNAIR NEWS A strong commitment to education has once again brought a graduate of the Master檚 Program in Psychology (MAPSI) at 51动漫 (UNAIR) to national prominence. Siti Fauziah, S.Pd., M.Si., CBHC, has demonstrated that classroom-based innovation can offer transformative solutions for early childhood education and family resilience in Indonesia.

Her work as an educator at TK Taman Ceria Surabaya earned national recognition when she secured third place in the 2025 Appreciation for Teachers and Education Personnel (GTK) awards in the Transformative Kindergarten Teacher category. Organized by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, the national award followed her earlier achievements as the first-place winner at both the Surabaya city level and the East Java provincial level.

Fauziah檚 success is rooted in an innovation called KEMILAU (Educational Coding to Recognize Food Ingredients). The method introduces algorithmic thinking to young children through activities such as preparing healthy meals, rather than relying on digital devices. Fauziah emphasized that character development and logical thinking should begin with experiences closely connected to children檚 daily lives.

淐oding does not have to be complicated or rigid. It can be introduced through activities that are familiar to children, as long as educators are willing to remain creative and continue innovating, she said.

She added that her academic background at UNAIR played a crucial role in shaping the method. 淭he educational psychology approach I studied during my master檚 program greatly helped me design a learning method that is more human-centered and aligned with the unique characteristics of each child, she explained.

Fauziah is also known as an advocate of Qur檃nic psychology and regularly shares educational insights through the program 淢ozaik on the Suara Muslim Radio Network. Her work focuses on strengthening women檚 resilience and promoting family well-being.

Fauziah檚 initiatives reflect the meaningful contributions of UNAIR alumni to global sustainable development targets. Her efforts to improve learning quality through the KEMILAU innovation represent a practical application of SDG 4: Quality Education. By integrating algorithmic thinking into children檚 daily activities, she demonstrates that quality education does not always depend on expensive technology but rather on educators creativity in simplifying complex concepts.

Her dedication to promoting children檚 nutrition education and mental health literacy also supports SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being. Through radio programs and family consultations, she works to ensure that community well-being begins with the smallest social unit, a family that is physically healthy and mentally resilient.

淚 believe that serving as a UNAIR graduate means contributing to positive change in society. Strong cognitive development in children and resilient family mental health are long-term investments in building a stronger nation, Fauziah concluded.
