Mandiri InHealth and AGE brief international students on health insurance

UNAIR NEWSAirlangga Global Engagement () Universitas Airlangga () organized a health insurance briefing for international students. Commencing with morning exercises and medical check-ups, the event took place on Friday, Feb 16, 2024, at the MERR-C Campus, UNAIR.Ìý

The program aims to provide detailed information about the benefits of international students’ health insurance at UNAIR. In this regard, AGE UNAIR collaborated with Mandiri InHealth to support the program’s implementation.

Astria Okta Herdiani SIKom, the Head of Global Mobility Programs at AGE, explained that the health insurance provision program for international students has been ongoing for some time. However, due to the influx of new international students, AGE conducted another briefing to raise awareness of the program. This way, new international students can learn the procedures and make the most of their health insurance.

She further elaborated that the program would target international students who receive scholarships, including the Airlangga Development Scholarship (ADS) and the Developing Countries Partnership (KNB) Scholarship. As one of the scholarship administrators, UNAIR can independently manage the health insurance coverage for students.

“In other words, we want to ensure that students who have passed the selection and become UNAIR students have comfort and convenience. So, their learning process is not disrupted. We fully support this program. If any of them encounter issues, such as complaints or illness, we already have solutions in place, ” she stated.

Furthermore, Sumadina Mahdiyanti, Head of the Customer Care Unit at Mandiri inHealth Surabaya, explained that their insurance program offers three main benefits, including outpatient benefits, inpatient benefits, and inHealth rider benefits, where participants who experience accidents will receive compensation per incident.Ìý

Moreover, participants can also utilize other benefits accessible through the FitAja! app. They can obtain electronic cards and guidebooks, consult with doctors online, access claims submission and information features, and much more.Ìý

“We will continue to invite and engage the academic community to collaborate with us. We are also very proud to have collaborated with UNAIR and gained trust to manage health insurance for international students,” she said.

“With this briefing, it is expected that international students at UNAIR can comprehend the information provided and maximize the benefits of their health insurance,” she said. (*)
