Post-Summit Y20 Indonesia is a national conference activity held to invite all youth to participate in building a better Indonesia. The event, which was held on 27-30 October 2022 in Solo, Central Java, facilitated young people to convey their ideas by implementing communique to realize changes at the national and international levels.
Her name is Erika Rahmawati. The class of 2020 student at the Faculty of Law, Airlangga University, took part in the Y20 Indonesia Post Summit. Through an interview with FH News on Monday (14/11/2022), Erika shared her experience participating in this activity.
“My experience participating in the Y20 Indonesia Post Summit in Solo was enjoyable. It was an honor to present my team’s ideas in front of high-level panelists who are representatives of government, business, and other stakeholders. In a series of events that I participated in, apart from presenting in front of the high panels, I also made a tour visit to Laweyan Merchants, attended a seminar at Mangkunegara Temple with Mr. Ridwan Kamil, Mr. Ganjar Pranowo, and Mr. Gibran Rakabuming Raka as speakers, went to the City Hall, and so on” said Erika.
According to her, the most memorable experience was when she met participants from various regions. “This makes me richer in knowledge and also in terms of thoughts.”.
Erika also explained the topic she brought up during the Y20 Indonesia Post Summit presentation. She said his team chose the sub-theme of diversity and inclusion. The issue presented by their group was the Core Indonesia Program, which is protection for marginalized groups, namely the disabled, transwomen, and PLWHA, which is dedicated to four sub-programs, namely equality, education, entrepreneurship, and empowerment. PLWHA themselves are people with (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) or a virus that attacks the body’s immune system causing a condition called AIDS (Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome), which is a syndrome (a collection of disease symptoms) due to a decrease in the body’s immune system.
“The program ideas are designed to be adaptive and collaborative with various parties, even in any context. With this program, Indonesia can solve one by one the problems of diversity and inclusivity and realize sustainable progress,” said Erika.
Erika explained the requirements for registering as a Y20 Indonesia Post Summit participant. The first stage is idea submission. The participants were asked to submit ideas. Then the second stage is the online presentation. At this stage, participants will present their ideas and listen to other participants’ views. Next is stage three, where the participants will collaborate to form 4-5 groups. The fourth stage is the group selection stage, where panelists will select the two best ideas from each priority area which will be forwarded to the final selection stage.
“Finally, the final presentation stage where the eight best groups will present their ideas to a high-level panel which will be given a fully funded fee for the presentation in Solo. The priority areas consist of youth employment, digital transformation, a sustainable and livable planet, diversity and inclusion,” said Erika.
In closing, Erika conveyed her impressions of the message while participating in the activities there. She felt very grateful because she was given the opportunity to present my team’s ideas in front of the high panelists.
“My impression and message from participating in the activities there is that I am grateful to be given the opportunity, and it is an honor to present my team’s ideas in front of the high panelists,” she concluded.
