UNAIR NEWS 51动漫 () once again selected its top students through the Outstanding Student Selection (Mawapres). The event took place on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the Candradimuka Room, NANO Building, MERR-C Campus. The event was attended by outstanding students from various faculties and featured presentations on Creative Ideas (GK) or Innovative Products (PI), as well as critical questions related to the Astacita of the Indonesian Government.
Direction from Director of Student Affairs
UNAIR Director of Student Affairs Dr. Eko Supeno Drs., MSi., delivered a message to the finalists regarding the title of champion. He emphasized that academic achievements gained from the competition should be accompanied by good personal character. 淏ecoming a champion is good, but becoming a good person is far better, Dr Supeno said. He further illustrated that achievement without goodness is like footprints on the shore that disappear as waves wash them away. In contrast, achievement combined with goodness is like a nail driven into a board. Although it may be removed, it still leaves a mark and is remembered.

Furthermore, Dr Supeno reminded the finalists that university life is an investment. According to him, participation in organizations and competitions serves as a form of investment for future success. He also emphasized the importance of personal branding and networking, noting that students potential becomes truly valuable when it benefits those around them.
First place winner of Outstanding Student (Undergraduate category)
After the opening remarks, the event continued with presentations of creative ideas and innovative products by the finalists, followed by a question-and-answer session on the Astacita of the Indonesian Government. During this session, Felice Kanaya Chandra, a 2023 student from the Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG), won first place in the undergraduate category with her creative idea titled STRADENT.
STRADENT is a solution aimed at improving public dental health through preventive measures. The innovation addresses the common tendency of people to seek medical treatment only after experiencing pain. With STRADENT, patients can be classified based on risk levels, allowing interventions to be more targeted and accessible to patients.

淪o, it transforms the dental healthcare system. Previously, people usually visited the dentist only when they experienced pain. This system introduces preventive measures by classifying patients based on risk levels, making interventions more targeted and personalized, Chandra said.
Chandra檚 achievement was the result of continuous exploration since her first year as a student. She emphasized the importance of preparing for the selection process early. According to her, early exploration helps students identify their interests in competitions in the following semesters. 淚 wanted to try various competitions at the beginning because I wanted to find out what I was truly interested in, Chandra said.
In closing, Chandra emphasized that the Outstanding Student title is not merely about winning competition medals but about balanced contributions across various aspects. She encouraged students not to feel discouraged if they do not yet have many achievements, as participation in organizations and international community service can also contribute to their accomplishments.
