Since 2020, every year 51¶¯Âþ through the Innovation Institute for Journal Development, Publishing and Intellectual Property Rights (LIPJPHKI) UNAIR has consistently provided journal support for each study program. Then, UNAIR also set targets for each journal to compete in publishing journals, especially in reputable journal indexes such as DOAJ and SCOPUS.
Big target every year
The latest journal that has been successfully indexed in Scopus is Record and Library Journal(RLJ),Faculty of Vocational Studies, 51¶¯Âþ.ÌýRecord and Library Journalhas a focus on the context of libraries and archives.ÌýIn this journal, Esti Putri, the managing editorofRecord and Library Journaland also a lecturer at the D3 UNAIR Library study program, explained that since 2015 RLJ has been at SINTA 3, and in the following years, RLJ has big targets.
“Since 2015, RLJ has been in SINTA 3, so every year we have a big target.ÌýThis year,thank God, during 1 year of mentoring with LIPJPHKI UNAIR, RLJ succeeded in being indexed by SCOPUS,” she explained in the interview session.
Challenges in journalsubmission process
In the interview session, Esti explained the challenges in publishing journals to be indexed by Scopus. Many criteria must be met for a journal to be accepted. 51¶¯Âþ itself already has a lot of experience in publishing SCOPUS-indexed journals. Esti revealed that many of these journals were accepted and many were rejected.
Esti also revealed the criteria that must be met to be a SCOPUS-indexed journal.ÌýThis starts from the quality of the editorial team, which must have a good publication track record.ÌýMoreover, the quality of the article must be good, and the article has lots of citations.ÌýAnd finally, author diversity.ÌýThe more diverse the authors, the easier it will be to be indexed by SCOPUS.
œRecord and Library Journal is focused onauthor diversity.ÌýSo, the focus is not only on authors at UNAIR but also on authors at other universities domestic and abroad.ÌýBecause authordiversityis an assessment that is taken into account in this SCOPUS journal publication,” said Esti.
