UNAIR NEWS 撎December 1 is commemorated as World AIDS (Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome) Day as a form of remembering and supporting survivors, as well as educating the general public about HIV or AIDS.听 (RSUA) also commemorated World AIDS Day on Saturday, Dec 9, 2023, in Dharmawangsa Hall, 8th Floor, UNAIR Hospital Building.
Being one of the best universities in the health sector, UNAIR is committed to supporting AIDS survivors. On this occasion, the Director of UNAIR Hospital, Prof Dr. Nasronudin Dr SpPd KPTI FINASIM, was also present. In line with the big theme carried out by the听World Health Organization听(WHO) this year, “Let Communities Lead, the event aims to invite the general public to support HIV plans and programs.
Not just ordinary ceremonies, UNAIR Hospital also collaborates with other external parties in providing health control services. On this occasion, every attendee who came had the opportunity to get a health check-up for free. Then, Prof Nasronudin inaugurated the release of his song “Selamat Tinggal HIV”. Prof Nasronudin participated in performing the song together with Dr. Wiwiek Indriyani Maskoep Sp DD FINASIM and Dr. Rosa Falerina Sp THT BKL KPTI FINASIM.
With the song that became Mars HIV UNAIR, Prof Nasronudin hoped that the audience would be able to embrace survivors without any discriminatory treatments. Helping to raise awareness among the public to support AIDS survivors, and that survivors still have a good life expectancy.
“So even though at first they refused, were sad, withdrew, we should convince them until we get up again, then we still have to face the future happily, freshly, achieving and staying fit,” said Prof Nasronudin.
Furthermore, this activity also presented performances from various parties, a band performance by the PLHIV community, and representatives from PERWAKOS. Then, towards the end of the event, UNAIR Hospital also shared prizes with the attendees.
