UNAIR NEWS (UNAIR) welcomed delegations from three Indonesian state universities擴niversitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), UIN Sumatera Utara, and Universitas Negeri Malang (UM)攐n Tuesday (Oct. 3, 2025). The visit focused on exploring integrated data management and strategies for improving university rankings through UNAIR檚 Satu Data system.
The delegations were received by UNAIR Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, and Community Development, Prof. Muhammad Miftahussurur, dr., MKes, SpPD, PhD, along with his team. The meeting served as a forum for exchanging experiences and best practices in consolidating institutional data to support policymaking as well as both national and international rankings.
Prof. Miftahussurur emphasized that the Satu Data system has become a critical tool in establishing transparent and accountable university governance. By integrating data, he explained, the reporting process to global ranking institutions becomes more streamlined, effective, and efficient.
淚n the early stages, reporting was handled manually, which placed us in the #651700 range. Once automation was introduced, our ranking improved significantly. The key challenges in global rankings are publications and reputation, and we succeeded because of strong integration across all units, he noted.
Dian Ekowati, SE, MSi, MAppCom(OrgCh), PhD, Head of UNAIR檚 Planning and Development Board, added that performance target data from all units and faculties are managed within the SPMS system. The data are finalized every quarter and reported to the Board of Trustees (MWA).
淲ith this unified data system, we can track institutional progress beyond ranking results alone, she explained.
Delegates from UNJ, UIN Sumatera Utara, and UM expressed appreciation for the opportunity to learn directly from UNAIR. They observed that UNAIR檚 approach to data management could serve as a model for adoption at their respective universities.
The visit reaffirmed UNAIR檚 commitment to advancing strong governance and competitiveness in higher education at both the national and international levels.
