UNAIR NEWS Students from the Faculty of Medicine (FK), 51动漫 (UNAIR), once again achieved national recognition. They competed in An Adventure Towards the Human Body (AORTA) 2026, an event organized by the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Hasanuddin in Makassar, held from February 6 to 8, 2026.

The AORTA competition introduced a unique format compared with typical anatomy contests. Teams were required to complete a sequence of stations, each presenting interactive challenges. Every successfully completed station revealed clues guiding participants to the next stage. Winners were determined based on how quickly teams reached the final pit stop while accurately completing each task.

Representing UNAIR, Muhammad Anthony Maulana and Kaleb Stanfier Hewis competed against 88 teams from across Indonesia. The duo advanced to the final round and maintained consistent performance, ultimately finishing in second place. 淭he areas of anatomy we needed to master included neuroendocrine, gastrohepatoenterology, musculoskeletal, urology and reproduction, as well as cardiorespiratory systems, Maulana said.

Their preparation followed a structured approach, including guided study sessions, collaborative practice, and regular discussions connecting anatomical theory with clinical applications. In the lead up to the final, Maulana and Hewis conducted intensive late night review sessions to reinforce their understanding.

淭he biggest challenge we faced was the high level of difficulty in both the questions and the games, which demanded accuracy and quick decision making under pressure, Maulana said.

Staying focused amid challenges

Hewis explained that the team initially fell behind in the early phase of the final due to a moment of inaccuracy in decision making. He said the situation created pressure, but they chose to remain calm and refocus on the competition.

淲e adopted a more creative approach to identify patterns and opportunities in each challenge. By maintaining focus, teamwork, and consistency through the final station, we finished as the second team to reach the pit stop, Hewis said.

淲hen you feel hesitant to start, keep moving forward. Many people stop at planning without taking action. Even if the outcome does not meet expectations, every process offers lessons that lead to future success, Hewis said.
