UNAIR NEWS took part in 2025 Indonesian Science and Technology Convention (KSTI), held Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Sasana Budaya Ganesa, Bandung Institute of Technology. UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammad Madyan, S.E., M.Si., M.Fin., attended the event in person, underscoring his commitment to advancing research and innovation through stronger collaboration among universities, industry, and government.
The convention, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, carried the theme 淪cience and Technology for Economic Growth and Equity. President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, delivered the keynote speech to open the gathering. More than 1,000 Indonesian researchers attended, including 58 representatives from UNAIR.

Several members of the Red and White Cabinet were present, including the Ministers of Economy, Energy and Mineral Resources, and Health, along with other key officials. The event also brought together 350 leaders from universities, research institutions, and industry. In addition to a technology exhibition, KSTI 2025 hosted workshops and partnership forums aimed at accelerating the use of research outcomes to drive national development.
Strengthening strategic sectors
KSTI is a national and international platform designed to accelerate Indonesia檚 science- and technology-based transformation. The convention emphasized the integration of research, higher education, and industry across eight priority sectors: food, energy, health, defense, maritime, downstream processing and industrialization, digitalization, and advanced materials and manufacturing. These sectors were selected based on their strategic importance to Indonesia檚 technological advancement and global competitiveness.

Prof. Madyan檚 attendance at KSTI 2025 reaffirmed UNAIR檚 position at the forefront of science and technology development in Indonesia. By personally leading the delegation, he demonstrated full support for expanding collaboration networks and ensuring UNAIR檚 active contribution to national research progress. This participation reflects the university檚 role as an institution committed not only to education but also to driving technological innovation for the nation檚 growth.
