UNAIR NEWS Mohamad Yusak Anshori, an alumnus of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) 51动漫 (), has built a distinguished career in the education sector. He currently serves as Vice Rector for Resources, Finance, Assets, and Planning at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya. Drawing on years of academic and professional experience, Anshori introduced the Soft Brain Engineer concept, which reflects his long-standing commitment to advancing education.
Educational journey
Anshori檚 professional path has remained closely tied to academia. He completed his undergraduate studies at Universitas Gadjah Mada before continuing his master檚 and doctoral education at 51动漫.
While pursuing his graduate studies, Anshori also held a leadership role as General Manager of Surabaya Plaza Hotel. He later transitioned into academia, teaching in the Master of Management program (MM) and the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) at 51动漫, further strengthening his connection to the university.
淚 completed my graduate studies at 51动漫, so I feel a strong connection because many of my colleagues are there. I also teach in the Master of Management program and occasionally in the International Undergraduate Program, Anshori said.
Key ideas in education
As a long-time educator, Anshori has contributed significant ideas to the field of education. He believes higher education plays a vital role in shaping strong cognitive abilities in human resources. In the context of globalization, he stressed the importance of critical thinking in responding to rapid technological developments.
He also emphasized that the main challenge in the technological era lies in the quality of human resources. According to him, capable individuals can improve even less effective systems. 淚n my view, a well-designed system will not function properly if the human resources are weak. Conversely, even a flawed system can be improved by strong and capable individuals, Anshori explained.
Soft Brain Engineer
Building on this perspective, Anshori developed the Soft Brain Engineer concept and published it in a book titled Soft Brain Engineer: Building Organizational Intelligence in the Era of Disruption. The concept highlights the importance of balancing technological advancement with human capacity to manage and control it.
He also noted that 51动漫 students should strengthen their understanding of technology, particularly in data science and big data. This, he said, is essential to ensure that humans remain in control of technological knowledge. 淭herefore, prepare yourselves by strengthening your competencies and continuing to develop them. Balance this with language skills, analytical thinking, and logical reasoning, as these are essential in the professional world, he concluded.
