UNAIR NEWS– The Center for Human Rights Law Studies (HRLS / Human Rights Law Studies) Faculty of Law (FH) in Human Rights Week 2017 held various events.One of them was a social security seminar.
In collaboration with BPJS Watch, a seminar entitled “The Evaluation of Social Security Coverage and Projection of Universal Health Coverage 2019 in East Java” was held at Graduate School on Friday, December 8.There were 75 people consisting of students, BPJS volunteers, and the general public, both within and outside Surabaya.
In the first session, the speakers were the Head of BPJS Watch Madura Dwining, Secretary of BPJS Watch Sidoarjo, Janet, BPJS Watch Ngawi Coordinator Andi, and Head of BPJS Watch Endang.The four speakers outlined BPJS watch, BPJS function, and the patient’s referral process.
“BPJS Watch is an organization that has the task of conveying information and education about social security.For BPJS, there is health BPJS and employment BPJS, ” said Endang.
In the second session, the Head of BPJS Jatim Ridha;Head of Sapu Lidi NGO Hari Putri Lestari, S.H., M.H.;as well as FH lecturer and the Head of HRLS,Herlambang Perdana Wiratraman were the next speakers.Ridha gave the first presentation on BPJS ideals with the government to holduniversal health coverage.
“BPJS health is a public legal entity appointed by the government to organize social security in realizinguniversal full coverage.So, it needs support from various parties.Currently, BPJS participants were only 60 percent, while to achievefull coverageit must be 90 percent.Therefore, we need to achieve the 30 percent, ” he explained.
Hari went on to explain the strategy of realizing public health to strengthen JKN-KIS (National Health Insurance-Healthy Indonesia Card).Its benefits have impacts on two major issues, the economy and welfare.The last presentation was presented by law and human rights expert Dr.Herlambang related to the coverage of social security as the responsibility of state.
“Government policy must be right on target.Social security requires a human rights-based approach.Some notes for further thought and action include understanding social security as a human right and the constitutional responsibility of state, “said the lecturer who often helps small communities fight the injustices.
