UNAIR NEWS “Department of Pediatrics Faculty of Medicine 51¶¯Âþ will keep making efforts to improve the neonatal service. The latest effort was by establishing partnership with Beatrix Children Hospital University Medisch Centrum Groningen (UMCG) Netherlands and D Erasmus Belgium.
This collaboration was held on March 21, 2017. The delegation of Beatrix Children Hospital Netherlands and D Erasmus Belgium visited FK UNAIR. There were Prof. Arend Frederick Bos, MD.,Ph.D., Prof. Pieter J.J Sauer, MD.,Ph.D., Prof. Peter Dijk, MD.,Ph.D, Prof. Bart Van Overmiere, MD.,Ph.D, and Corry Klompie (IC Nurse), also Siebrig Ploegsma (IC Nurse).
The guests from Eaurope was welcomed by Vice Dean III FK UNAIR Prof. Dr. Ni Made Mertaniasih, dr.,Ms.,Sp.MK(K), with Head of Pediatrics department FK UNAIR/RSUD Dr. Soetomo (RSDS) dr. Muhammad Faizi, Sp.A(K), senior lecturers dr. Agus Harianto, Sp.A(K), Dr. dr. Risa Etika, Sp.A(K), dr. Mahendra Tri A.S, Sp.A, dr. Dina Angelika, Sp.A, and some staffs.
Head of Pediatrics department FK UNAIR/RSUD Dr. Soetomo (RSDS) dr. Muhammad Faizi, Sp.A(K) explained that beside to improve service, the partnership also discussed about three strategic sectors in neonatology development.
There were four things agreed on, doctor quality improvement, student exchange, development of national baby treatment guidelines, and international research development.
To improve the quality of doctors, UMCH Netherlands has also sent some nurses jin the Department of Pediatrics Faculty of Medicine / /RSUD Dr. Soetomo. They will hold practice together with doctors and nurses in RSDS, especially in handling the babies. Nurses from Beatrix Children Hospital which was also a teaching hospital of University Medisch Centrum Groningen have held a workshop from March 21 to Saturday, March 25, 2017. (*)
