UNAIR NEWS “There are many ways conducted by an institution to improve the quality of human resources.One of them is by giving awards for human resources who have capable capacities.In this case, Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG) of 51¶¯Âþ held FKG Award at Shangri-La Hotel Surabaya Wednesday evening, October 4.
Attending the event was Vice Rector I UNAIR Prof.Djoko Santoso, dr., Ph.D., Sp.PD., K-GH., FINASIM.In his speech, Djoko said that in life, it is necessary to maintain balance.Quoting the words of wisdom, Djoko asserted that in reaching success, human beings should not do themselves, a synergy is needed.For that, the awards ceremony according to Prof. Djoko was an effort to improve the existing quality.
“This is a message with a noble meaning.So, as our campus mission, the number of smart and wise people in this campus environment should provide more benefits to the community, “said Djoko.
Dean of FKG UNAIR Dr.Darmawan Setijanto, drg., M.Kes., said the annual FKG Award event is aimed to provide motivation for human resources in FKG UNAIR environment.Furthermore, event that was packed with Outlook 2018 was also held to measure achievements made from one year.
“This activity is also held to accelerate the next steps.And indeed, we also give honor to the best department, the best head of program, the best educational staff, and of course the students, “he explained.
Not only that, the activity is also considered as an effort to unite the vision together.In addition to evaluate and improve all positive aspects.
“The drawback isthe spice of life.However, the most important thing is how to overcome and fix that drawback, “he explained.
Regarding the criteria to determine the qualified human resources, Darmawan said that the criteria have been determined by the leaders of FKG .
“For the best program head we received a recommendation from the department.As for the staff, it is seen from the task and performance. For students, we have our own criteria, “Darmawan added.
Boost Research
Regarding the improvement of human resources quality in FKG UNAIR, Darmawan stressed the importance of cultivating a research culture among students and lecturers.However, not just research that stops on the library shelves, Darmawan added that the research is expected to get a patent and manufactured.
“In the future we will continue to boost our research culture.So if there is research, we will always support.And that research should lead to downstream phase and patents, ” he said.
Darmawan again reminded that FKG UNAIR continues to be targeted to improve the quantity and quality of research.
“For research we are targeting 200 results in 2019. But we are asked by the leadership to produce more, so we improve it, but we do it seriously,” he said.
Awareness on the research culture for Darmawan will have a tremendous impact, especially in increasing the trust of other institutions.If confidence is obtained, this may lead to more student exchange activities, lecturers, and professors’ visits from and to FKG UNAIR.
“For this we continue to monitor and accelerate,” said Darmawan.
To support and also complete the event of FKG Award and Outlook 2018, FKG UNAIR will also hold the 7th National Scientific Meeting and 4thJoint Scientific Meeting in Dentistry from 5 to 7 October.(*)
