FKM Student Ready to Participate in Asian Games 2018

UNAIR NEWS – UNAIR students never stop making achievements.Not only to gain good reputation for the university, also work hard to bring the nation to world stage.

Dinda Maulidya Putri Maharani, a student of Faculty of Public Health, Department of Public Health 2015 student, is preparing to participate in 2018 Asian Games and represent Indonesia at international level.This fencing athlete has just brought a medal from the National Fencing Championship 2017 and Test Event Asian Games 2018, Jakarta December 1, 2017.

She won a silver medal in the individual junior sabre women Fencing National Championship 2017 and silver medal team in Test Event Asian Games 2018. For these achievements, the woman who started fencing since second grade of junior high school was projected to enter the national fencing team to compete in the Asian Games next year.

“Insha Allah I am included in National team and team for Asian Games 2018. In January, the athletes call to followwill be summoned to attend the national team training,” said the woman who also loves badminton on Saturday, December 9.

All this time, Dinda admitted that she had no difficulty arranging the fencing practice time with her study.The exercise is usually held in the afternoon, after college hours.Generally, in a week, there are three times exercise. To improve her stamina, she jogs regularly every Saturday and Sunday.

Before going to an event or championship, Dinda often adds her portion of the exercise.“The addition is aimed to keep the muscles flexible and the body condition remains stable,” explained the woman who wants to propose UNAIR to have fencing UKM.So far, Dinda observed, there are many UNAIR students who are interested in fencing so she believed it is appropriate to form a new activity unit.

Dinda has many interesting experiences in this sport.When she was junior high school, just learning for two weeks, she has won third place at an East Java level championship.Since then, she is eager to keep up and she has often won so she was “addicted” to fencing.

Dinda hoped that her fencing and formal education can run smoothly together.“I always hope to make my parents and Indonesia proud,” said the woman who is active in Badminton student unit.(*)
