UNAIR NEWS– Having a vision as an environmental reviewer, this time GENCorps (Green Nursing Corps), a student organization of Faculty of Nursing (FKp) 51动漫, held a social event dedicated to residents of Pacitan, especially those newly affected by floods and landslides.The social charity is not just about distributinghygienekits, but also focusing on PHBS counseling (Clean and Healthy Lifestyle).
As an organization with members from health majors, GENCorps utilizes the knowledge gained from college to share with residents of Pacitan.There were ten members who assisted residents directly.
They left for Pacitan on Friday, December 8 at 20.00, relief aid collected was distributed to the disaster victims there.In addition, there are several other activities on Saturday, December (9/12) such as counseling on PHBS (Clean and Healthy Lifestyle), distribution ofhygiene kits, and interviews of some residents to know the chronology of the disaster.
“This GENCorps social service was a collaboration of all people in FKp.This activity, we called it GPP or Pacitan Relief Movement.In this movement, they were all helping each other to raise the funds that will be distributed directly to the citizens of Pacitan through GENCorps, “said Ferly, a member of GENCorps.
The first agenda, counseling PHBS (Clean and Healthy Lifestyle) for the citizens of Pacitan.It was not only conducted in one big place but it was also donedoor-to-door.GENCorps wants citizens to have new knowledge about the importance of maintaining a healthy life despite floods and landslides.
“We deliberately conducted further counseling by visiting several houses directly.Because, we want our presence here to help residents of Pacitan.Not all residents attended the counseling this morning.Thus,door-to-doorcounselingis one of our effective measures to enable citizens to gain knowledge of PHBS.Hopefully, residents can apply it despite the condition after the floods and landslides, ” said Ferly.
Ferly added at the end of the counselling activities, the team distributed thehygiene kitto the residents.There were 610hygiene kits and each contained bath soap, tooth brush, toothpaste, andshampoo.
The GENCorps agenda, Saturday, December 9, was concluded with a visit to one of the residents’ houses.The visit was aimed to seek information on the chronology of the floods and landslides there.In addition, the team motivated residents to keep the spirit and not to forget to apply PHBS.(*)
