Hiroshima Professors Called on Education Cooperation Extension

UNAIR NEWS 撎In order to extend education cooperation and research between 51动漫听Hiroshima University,听the vice president in charge of international cooperation Prof. Nishitani Hajime visited UNAIR, Thursday (16/3). The meeting between Japanese and UNAIR delegations was held at the Plenary Room, Management Office, Campus C UNAIR.

In the forum Nishitani stated that UNAIR will be able to reach its government檚 set-target rank. One way to do it is by building international collaboration. Hiroshima offered students exchange scheme which can be joined by students taking their final semester.

淪tudents taking their final semester can join exchange program for five or six months at Hiroshima. Of course, school fee applies. They can finish their thesis there, explained Nishitani.

Nishitani also gave unlimited chances for UNAIR academic community who wanted to cooperate in research, students exchange, and lecturers who were willing to continue their study at Hiroshima.

In this meeting, UNAIR delegation was headed by I Vice President Prof. Djoko Santoso. Apart from Djoko, there are vice dean responsible for cooperation, Japanese University檚 graduates from Indonesia, some researchers having collaboration with Japanese Universities, and some parties interested to build collaboration.

Each delegation presented their respective collaboration in the past or at the moment with Japanese researchers. The Faculty of Humanities (FIB) for example sends one student to Japan every year. Apart from FIB, the Faculty of Medicine is at the time doing a research with a researcher from Hiroshima.

Responding to each delegation, Djoko hoped each work unit added the collaboration frequency and intensity between the two universities. 淪end more than one participant next year, asked Djoko.

Vice President III FIB Rizky Andini, Ph.D., stated that in the future she would add the number of students who would follow exchange program, especially to Japan. 淪o far, we have only sent one student through Hiroshima University Studying Abroad (HUSA) program. In the future, we will try our best to send at least two or three students, explained Rizky.

In addition, FIB would also do join-research. This was due to the fact that there were some research subjects which according to her in line with FIB UNAIR.

Meanwhile, Department of Physical Health and Rehabilitation (KFR) FK UNAIR is also cooperating with Hiroshima University. According to the lecturer of KFR doctor Damayanti Tinduh, Sp.KFR, at the moment there are already two doctors who have passed sub-specialist education from the cooperation program.

In the field of research, three departments at FK UNAIR is now collaborating with Japan and Sydney to hold an international conference and publication. They are doing therapeutic exerciseresearch to cure patients with disabilities. They plan to present the research in a conference that will be held in August 2017.

淲e are handling a more difficult case, namely Paralympic athlete disabilities. They want this collaboration to continue. At the Paralympic Games in Japan in 2020, we are going to send a team there, she explained.
