History Students Study about Indonesian Japanese Relation

UNAIR NEWS – There is an interesting tradition in History Department, Faculty of Humanity, 51动漫 before for the first day of semester. Some national or international figures are invited to UNAIR to broaden the knowledge of history, especially in Indonesia.

This time, the first lecture was about the relation of Indonesia and Japan after the independence and it was presented by Prof. Aiko Kurasawa, an emeritus professor from Keio University, Japan.

Aiko discussed about dynamics relation between Indonesia and Japan, from military, agrarian, and huge shared projects. The most important thing in the discussion was that Japanese government tried to make amend to Indonesia since its colonialism in Indonesia.

淏ased on some sources, Japanese Colonialism was very cruel. There were criticisms from our people for omitting that period of history in our education curriculum, Aiko said in a public lecture held at Parwati Hall, Faculty of Humanity 51动漫

The visiting lecture was moderated by the head of History Department Bachelor Program, Gayung Kasuma, S.S., M.Hum. After the lecture, he shared some reasons of History Department having that unique academic tradition. He said that it works as a good opening for students before the regular classes.

淭hrough this lecture, students do not only get the knowledge from UNAIR lecturers, but also get from visiting lecturers invited, Gayung said.

He also said that the theme each year is different. Last year, the theme of visiting lecture was about history of Europe and Australia, meanwhile this year is about Asia.

The first lecture invites the experts from foreign countries to support UNAIR towards World Class University.
