Therefore, when 31st PIMNAS was held at Yogyakarta State University (UNY), the central IKA inaugurated leaderships of IKA UA in Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY).Being held at the Grand Mercure Yogyakarta, nine members of leaderships of DIY IKA UA were inaugurated on Thursday, (30/8).
Dr.Akmal Budianto, SH, MH, as the First Head of Central IKA-UA attended the inauguration.In his remarks, Akmal said that even though the inaugurated members were the core management, in the future they are expected to start formulating various programs.
“There is no need for many programs and management, the most important thing is the existence of an organizational field that conducts alumni data collection and community service programs,” he said.
Meanwhile, the elected Head of IKA UA DIY Region was Hendrikus Mesak.According to him, Yogyakarta is not only special in its name, but also in reality.The reason is, besides being a city of education, a city of culture, and a tourist city, according to him, Yogyakarta is also an area that is prone to natural disasters.
“For that reason, in the name of IKA, we will always be ready to do various forms of service,” he explained.
In response to the statements, UNAIR Rector who also attended the event, emphasized that the alumni contribution greatly determines the reputation of the alma mater.For Prof.Nasih, alumni have a big contribution to support the progress of institutions and nations.
“We have repeatedly emphasized that alumni’s reputation is very significant for the progress of the alma mater and nation,” he said.
