UNAIRNEWS – Practicalactivities often present memorable experiences.Dewa Ayu Mirah Indrayani, the best bachelor graduate from Midwifery.
During her education as a prospective midwife, her most memorable experience was when she was in the fourth semester.At that time, Mirah and her friends followed the clinical practice for two weeks which is always held at the end of each semester.It’s called physiological delivery stage.
“For the first time I saw the process of delivery first hand.How hard the struggle of women giving birth to children.Because of the atmosphere, I forgot what I had todo,” she said.The sensation of having first experience helping labor is still in her memory today.
“Until now, every clinical practice and dealing with maternity patients, I remember my mother.I feel like going home, hug my mother and say thank you, ” she said.
But every time I miss her, Mirah cannot always go home and meet her mother.Because, both live far apart.Mirah is in Surabaya, while her family in Klungkung, Bali.
Since childhood, Mirah is never far from parents.The choice for an education in Surabaya encourages her to dare to live independently.
“Naturally I feelhomesick.But that actually makes my motivation to study harder.If I want to have holiday, I have to study harder so that later my holiday won檛 be spend for exam, ” she said.
Her plan after graduation, the winner of the third contest in the article Writing Article Refresher in theNational Camp Midwifery Students Competition(NCMSC) 2015 will continue to the professional degree.After that, she plans to return to her hometown and devote herself as a midwife in Bali.(*)
