UNAIR NEWS – For women today, the figure of Srikandi does not only illustrate a graceful, gentle, and motherly images, but also toughness.The emergence of various problems in society also demands the involvement of women.So, the need to solve the problem makes the Ministry of Women Empowerment BEM UNAIR 2017 ready to deploy the tough women to help the community.They held Srikandi Airlangga 2017.
The event, which was opened on Saturday, October 21, will organize a community service to help 332 Sampang refugees in Rusunawa Puspa Agro Sidoarjo.Attended by representatives of BEM UNAIR and the community, from refugees to residents of low cost apartment building, the activity was started with a speech from the Deputy of BEM UNAIR 2017. Furthermore, a speech from representative of officials and cadres from Rusunawa Puspa Agro.
The activity was implemented as a form of UNAIR women empowerment for the community.There are many programs implemented over the next three months, from October to December.Some of them are economic empowerment, health checks, maternal and child education, and entertainment for the community as a form of post-conflict follow up.
The teaching is held on Saturday and Sunday, every two weeks.There are 30 srikandi were deployed to help 77 mothers as well as 68 children and teenagers.
The event is expected to create toughness from the women who can inspire for other women to help others sincerely without looking at the background of the community as well as to give a positive impact for the community for a better Indonesia.(*)
