UNAIR NEWS– The digital era is like opium that dominates users to consume technological sophistication.The users are being served with all kinds of convenience such as the internet.Indonesia is no exception, which is one of the countries affected by the digital revolution.
Quoted fromentitled “Facing the Digital Era” published on August 29, 2017, Indonesia is ranked 5th as the country with the largest number of internet users in the world after China, India, the United States and Brazil.The level of internet penetration in Indonesia until March 2017 reached 50.4%.
It inspired UNAIR’s Career and Entrepreneurship Development Center (PPKK) in collaboration with Google to open anonlinebusiness classat Parlinah Room Campus B Library, August 21.The activity titled “GAPURA DIGITAL ” discussed “Digital Guide & Google for Your Business”.The class presented by Dadang Setiawan as a Google Gapura Digital facilitator as well as IKA .
In the presentation, Dadang introduced Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) to the participants to develop onlinebusinesses.SEO and SEM, according to him, is keywords maximizing technique related to products selling both services and goods.The difference is in terms of costs.
“It is very important to increase the popularity ofentrepreneurialonlinebusiness products, it is aimed to createawareness brandingthat helps marketing,” he continued.
Dadang, who is an alumnus of UNAIR, also discussed the importance of makingGoogle My Businessan online entrepreneurship strategy.ThroughGoogle My Business, customers will be given information about the schedule, location, and contact of the business owner.Google my businessattracts customers to believe that the business is trusted.Therefore, entrepreneurs were asked not to worry, let alone fear if the business failed.Entrepreneurs also don not need to do conventional business anymore.
