UNAIR NEWS– The program of Islamic Economics (Ekis) of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) 51¶¯Âþ () this year targets two orphanages for their service program.The program is realized throughEkis Give Donation(EGD). It is one of the UNAIR Ekis Student Association annual events.
EGD is their annual event and it is in its third year.The EGD event has been held from May to September.EDG is held in orphanages, Al Mahbubiyah and Al Kahfi.
“This year EGDwas themed entrepreneurship as Panti Al Mahbubiyah already has businesses like Mr.Jac.And, in Panti Al Kahfi, there was academic and non-academic education, “said Dian Ayu as organizer of EGD 2018.
The vision of EGD is the community service through sharing activities to people in need.It was to show Ekis students™ concern towards fellow Muslims as well as to preach Islamic economics.The mission of EGD activities is to hold a series of events that are sustainable and useful.So, the sense of caring is fostered.
EGD in Panti Al Mahbubiyah was followed by 27 children.The activities were held weekly for two months, May and June, by sharingknowledge and experiences between people.There were also students with a personal business as a coach.
On the other hand, at Panti Al Kahfi, EGD was followed by 50 children.Its activities were also carried out every week for two months, July and August.In EGD, they shared knowledge and experience that leads to academic and non-academic subjects including educationalgames.And, in the final event in September, the orphanages were invited to Campus B UNAIR.
“Please come in the morning, not at night so you can be here long,” said one of the children in the orphanage.
“Glad to be in the EGD.Because, this event is very useful and trained to be more grateful, patient, and istiqomah.Out there, many children are less fortunate in their lives than we are with all their limitations.So, we should be grateful that we still have more than them, “he added.(*)
