UNAIR NEWS – The 28th October is one of the most historic days for the nation.On that day, a pledge was made by the youth in Indonesia.
The birth of the youth pledge should be an inspiration for young men in Indonesia to do activities which bring benefits for the surrounding.On the same date, BSO Social Service of Islamic Student Activity Unit (UKMKI) with the apprentices participated in the agenda of Great Social Activity Yansos 2017.
The two-day social service was held in three places, Keputran Market Park, Fajar Jaya Elementary School, Gubeng Jaya 4, and SD Hidayatul Ummah in Kalijudan Street.The event was in the form of dissemination and health check, quiz contest, as well as for basic commodities distribution.
“The purpose of this event was to introduce UKMKI apprentices to social issues around us, to develop social responses, and to instill social awareness ranging from the freshmen.Hopefully, this activity can be a start for them to become useful figures, whether you’re a student or a graduate of UNAIR.Including being a figure who can build a nation and make others happy, “explained the Head of Yansos UKMKI Santo.
The activity was followed by students from various faculties.In addition to 25 freshmen enrolled in the UKMKI apprenticeship agenda, there were 27 Muslim religious college students from veterinary medicine faculty supporting for the event.There were also contributions from other faculty students with different disciplines.
The activity ran well.The parents followed the dissemination and health check, while the children competed in an intelligent competition.Donations collected by the committee were distributed to the participants of the dissemination as well as the people around.
BSO Yansos (social services) UKMKI is a semi-autonomous body of Islamic spirituality unit UNAIR which is engaged in education.One of the main programs is to conduct Islamic coaching for disadvantaged children especially in the three locations, Keputran Market Park, Surabaya;Sayang Anak Bangsa B (Sansa B) Fajar Jaya Elementary School, Gubeng Jaya VII, No. 9;Sayang Anak Bangsa C at SD Hidayatul Ummah, Jalan Mulyorejo, No. 78-92.
The event was also one of the events to welcome freshmen in UKMKI.There were at least six events,welcome party, Dawn Prayers Airlangga, Hijab Muslimah Week, Yansos Social Service, Futsal UKMKI, and Excellent with Morality Club.(*)
