UNAIR NEWS –“Friendship is Expensive” was a clear statement from the President Director of PT.Tourindo GKS, HR Mohamad Faried, SH, who is an alumnus of 51动漫.During a departure ceremony for pilgrims, Faried, alumnus of Faculty of Law graduated in 1962 shared many things about his tips to success in business.

Before sharing his business story, Faried first told his story during his study at FH UNAIR.The unique thing he experienced was to finish his bachelor檚 degree for 17 years.Faried took a long time to finish it because he had to fulfill the mandate of the government.

“I enrolled in the Faculty of Law in 1962 and graduated 17 years later.It ran smooth at first.But in 1965 there was PKI incident and the university had to be closed.The government was also chaotic.I was one of UNAIR students to fill the governmental position in Surabaya.I became a staff, ” he explained.

Being busy serving the government disrupted his study. Nevertheless, Faried always re-register to maintain his status as UNAIR student.

“At that time I was forced to leave college, because I did not want to disappoint the authority who has given me the mandate.However, I always re-registered every year, and after 17 years I finished it, “he recalled while laughing.

Faried then began to share his story pioneering travel business.He admitted, to start a business in travel industry takes a long time, especially when his business provides service to the ummah.

“After being graduated, he didn檛 start the business directly, he waited a direction from Allah SWT and just started thinking about this in 1995 during his second pilgrimage.That year, there was an incredible inner feeling.I want to have a travel business that can facilitate children and grandchildren, families, and society,” explained the father of three children.

Starting a business when the country was in crisis was not easy.Faried asserted that perseverance and tenacity were the main things needed to deal with various conditions, even though there were crises.

“Establishing business in times of crisis is difficult.The main things needed are persistence and tenacity also an effort to keep developing the network.Any situations is an opportunity, depend on us how to face them.As long as we are smart to deal with the situation, ” he explained.

In the end of the interview, Faried did not forget to give advice and input to his beloved alma mater.As a part of UNAIR’s Board of Trustees, Faried is aware that the challenges ahead for UNAIR are not easy, especially to achieve the Top 500 World University.

“Indeed this is not a small challenge to bring the name of the alma mater to become a dignified college and gave birth to the nation’s gold generation.We need all partners we could have.Not only rectors and students, but all elements, “he concluded.
