UNAIR NEWS The curriculum of education in institutions is measured to only a third to teach humanity values. The right or wrong, the rest is being ignored.
淢odern education only teaches us a third of humanity, (only) right and wrong. But good and bad, beautiful and ugly are not taught. When all of the are problems of life, said the humanist, Emha Ainun Najib.
Emha or widely known as Cak Nun stated in Sinau Bareng Cak Nun dan Kyai Kanjeng. The event was held in front of Management Office Building UNAIR on Friday, May 12, attended by hundreds of academicians and the public of Surabaya and surrounding city.
淣ational Education (Diknas) is only about right or wrong. So, do not expect them to be whole, added Cak Nun.
Therefore, initiative from the education institutions to wholeness is through extracurricular activities, art and religious festival is needed. They are all to create balance.
Emha emphasized that education institutions should make human reach 尘补檙颈蹿补迟level(has profound, comprehensive and detailed knowledge). The more someone learning something, the more he understands about a problem from any sides.

UNAIR Rector, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, who was also on the stage with Emha said that the education inis tried to be a whole man. Besides learning in classes, they are expected to join extracurricular activities so they can develop their softskill.
淯NAIR is aimed to produce graduate with excellence with morality, not only right and wrong, good and bad, and beautiful and not beautiful. We provided extracurricular activities so they can develop the beauty. Furthermore, students should also be active in society so they know beauty, said Nasih.
Besides the learning process in UNAIR, Rector also emphasized that education is not only from campus but also from family, neighbors and the country.
淔or example, during college, we teach corruption is very wrong, but people who did corruptions are left free. I hope the education is not only from the teachers and lecturers. The government should also give examples so people outside campus can get positive education, he added.
