UNAIR NEWS With guts and determination, that was how Eben Haezer started his study in Master program in FISIP UNAIR. At that time, he had financial difficulties.
淩egistering master program was the biggest decision I made. At that time my saving was not enough for the registration, he said.
Eben then applied for a loan in the cooperative to cover the rest. From the loan, the saving and selling his printer he could finally pay the registration. After being accepted as student of Media and Communications, Eben applied for LPDP scholarship.
淪urprisingly, I got some projects and accepted as LPDP awardee, he said.
During his study, Eben also worked as a journalist and an activist in Independent Journalist Alliance (AJI) of Surabaya.
淚 was active as well outside campus as journalist and trusted as the secretary of AJI of Surabaya, explained Eben.
Eben has made some achievements in journalism, such as Third Place of Journalist Competition in Indonesia IT 2013, Third Place of Journalism Work in Petrokimia Media Awards 2013, and Third placeAirAsia Indonesia Blog Competition in 2014.
淏esides participating in competitions, I also speak in some journalism events, he said.
Even with his busy schedule, he did not forget his study and finally it was finished in 2 years with 3.77 GPA.
