UNAIR NEWS – Hundreds of students in colorful university jackets crowded the hall for the meeting of the Dental Medicine Student Senate in Indonesia, Friday, May 5.The students are incorporated in a cross-senate organization of Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG) throughout Indonesia, under the name of PSMKGI (Indonesian Dental Medicine Student Senate Association).
The event titled National Student Leadership and Managerial Training (LKMM-Nas) PSMKGI held at Hotel Sahid Surabaya is an annual event.An association with “Ira Yudha Wicaksono, Ing ngarsa sung tuladha” as tagline this time presented Dr.Ir.Tri Rismaharini, MT, Mayor of Surabaya as one of the speakers.
“The speakers we presented this occasion are the result of the study at the time of the previous National Conference of PSMKGI.In the study, FKG had the opportunity to become the organizer in 2018.So, we had a great opportunity to bring Mrs. Risma as the inspiring leadership inthisevent, “said Aulia of the committee.
The presence of the number one official in the city of Surabaya was indeed been awaited by the students.The students seemed excited as they keep chanting upon the arrival of ‘mother of Surabaya citizens™.
“I told all the youths here.Courage is the key to the innovation development, the idea will work if courage be the foundation, “Risma’s message to all students in the Q&A session.
In line with the topic, she presented “Government Policy and the Role of Students in the Realization of Healthy Indonesia”, Risma described some of Surabaya’s success in serving the health needs of its citizens.One of the many examples that Risma describes is the concept ofe-health.
“The idea ofe-healthoriginally appeared when I went directly to the health center and then found a long queue at the counter.Currentlye-healthnot only solves queuing problems, but also as a solution to medical records problem, “said Risma.
“All these innovations bring many challenges, and we should face them with the courage to move forward,” Risma said followed with an applause of the students LKMM-Nas 2018 participants.
In addition to the Mayor of Surabaya, there was also dr.Gamal Albinsaid, M. Biomed (recipient of the first award of Sustainable Living Young Entrepreneurs Awards) and drg.Agus Suprapto, M.Kes (Head of Puslitbang Public Health Effort, Ministry of Health RI).(*)
