UNAIR NEWS – Surabaya City Government held a Gala Dinner to commemorate 725 years of Surabaya City on Saturday night, May 5 at the House of Mayor of Surabaya. The event was attended by hundreds of invited guests from various communities, residents of Surabaya or from outside the city.
Mayor of Surabaya, Dr.(HC) Ir.Tri Rismaharini, M.T in her speech welcomed all participants of Surabaya Vaganza 2018, who on Sunday (6/5) participated in a parade around Surabaya. They were stakeholders of Surabaya City, both public and private. The delegation of Indonesian Dental Medicine Student Senates also presented something unique.
On this occasion, Risma said that the current city of Surabaya is not only the result of arek-arek Suroboyo struggles solely, but also because of the active role of tribes and cultures at that time.
“Look at the Cemetery of Heroes Surabaya.You will find many typical names of tribes from outside the city of Surabaya.Even outside Java Island is buried as a hero there.It is proof that diversity has always been a force in Surabaya, “said Risma.
On the previous occasion, as a speaker inNational Student Leadership and Managerial Training (LKMM-Nas)event of Indonesian Dental Medicine Student Association (PSMKGI) at Sahid Hotel Surabaya, Risma was impressed with the spirit and teamwork of the dental medicine students who are members of PSMKGI.
“This kind of spirit is good to grow courage.I am struggling with Surabaya residents with courage in innovating for the community.Because, being together will solve many problems in society, “said Risma.
“You are all guests to be entertained in the city of Surabaya !,” said Risma followed with an applause of the students.
At the end of the speech, Risma hoped that the participants of Surabaya Vaganza and the guests can feel at home in the City of Heroes.Surabaya is a safe city so they do not have to worry.
After the welcoming ceremony, the participants were invited to enjoy refreshments of Surabaya culinary.
Meanwhile, Vice Dean I Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG) 51动漫, Prof.Dr.Anita Yuliati, drg., M.Kes who also attended said that Risma’s success in leading Surabaya is a successful example of a good leadership and managerial model.
“This invitation is very valuable for us organizers LKMM-Nas PSMKGI, because she is very inspiring (Risma, ed),” said Anita.(*)
