UNAIR NEWS– To support the quality improvement of education, research, and community service(FKH), 51动漫 (UNAIR) inaugurated the new building of Veterinary Teaching Hospital on Thursday, April 5.For the inaugural service, there was free service to the first 25 patients.
The soft openingwas attended by officials of FKH;Dean of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Prof.Dr.Mirni Lamid, drh., MP;and Vice Rector IVJunaidi Khotib,S.Si, Apt., M.Kes, Ph.D, representing the rector.Some representatives from the Animal Husbandry Office Surabaya.
The four-storey hospital is located on Campus C UNAIR, next to the building FKH UNAIR on Jalan Dharmahusada Permai, Mulyorejo.The inauguration of the new building adds the number of hospitals owned by UNAIR, after 51动漫 Hospital (RSUA) inaugurated in 2011 and Oral and Dental Hospital (RSGM) in 2016.
Director of Veterinary Teaching Hospital FKH UNAIR Surabaya Prof.Dr.Kusnoto Supranianondo, drh., MS., stated that the hospital is expected to be a media to improve the quality of students in the maintenance and handling of animal cases especially with various cases of patients.
“It opens for service on Monday-Friday at 08.00-17.00.And, Saturday is open at 09.00-13.00.In average, our clinic treats 75 patients in a day.In the future, we target one hundred patients every day, “he said toUNAIR NEWS.“That way, the student experience can be more varied,” he added.
Responding to Prof. Dr.Kusnoto ‘s statement, Dean of FKH UNAIR Prof., Dr., Pudji Srianto drh., M. Kes., in his speech explained that the Veterinary Teaching Hospital UNAIR is expected to have three functions, animal health care, education, and recreation.
“The matter of animal care, obviously it provides services related to animal health,” he said.
For educational function, he added, the academic community is involved, both student co-assistant and lecturer in animal care process.“For the recreational function, in addition to vaccination, there will be groomingservice.So, in the future, there are efforts towards comfort ofpet animals, “he said.
Prof.Pudji added that UNAIR Veterinary Teaching Hospital is aimed to expand the reach of animal health services to livestock and animal commodities.It also becomes the referral veterinary practice, regional laboratory, and puskeswan (animal health center) in East Java.
“It also becomes an animal health information center and as one of the government partners in disease control and veterinary health improvement,” he said.
Meanwhile, giving a speech at inauguration, Vice Rector IV UNAIR,Junaidi Khotib,S.Si, Apt., M.Kes, Ph.D, stated that the educational support facilities continue to be improved by UNAIR, especially related to science and research.
The inauguration, he added, also became part of the process of preparing qualified graduates as well as an effort towards the reputation ofworld class university(WCU).
“The synergy between FKH and Veterinary Teaching Hospital UNAIR is very necessary in optimizing their respective roles especially related to learning of education, “he said.“The hospital is also expected to improve the minimum competencies achieved by the graduates FKH UNAIR,” he added.(*)
