It was a Javanese saying which means that each place or environment has its own ways and traditions.Awkwardness, strangeness, and unfamiliarity are commonfor those who have just arrived in new places.It was experienced by Ni Luh Arick Istriyanti in the beginning of her undergraduate study at Faculty of Psychology 51动漫.
For the woman born in Bali, June 25, 1991, a success always has obstacles and challenges.She had language difficulty, especially during the practice of psychology profession (PKPP) at Pegirian Health Center Surabaya.Fortunately, her education and friendship environment supports her to be able to learn and go through the obstacles.
Arick was finally named as the best master檚 graduate of Faculty of Psychology.She got 3.80 GPA.Although her studies took longer to finish because she was also involved in some lecturers researches, Arick is still active in self and social development activities.For example, macapatpractice at Surabaya Youth Hall every Tuesday.
Arick also participated in developing her village through character development and cultural values 媼 tutoring for elementary school children, in Sibangkaja Village, Badung, Bali.There she also took samples for her thesis research entitled “The Effectiveness ofAcceptance And Commitment Therapyin Improving Parents Acceptance towards theirSons with Down Syndrome in Balinese Patriarchal Culture”.
In addition to college education,Mbok(mbak / Balinese women greeting) who studied bachelor檚 degree in Psychology, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, was active attending conferences, both within and outside the country.In 2012 Arick attended theInternational Conference Promoting Happiness, Health and Quality of life, The Role of Psychology, Technology and Environmental Sciences ofLangkawi Island Malaysia.
The latest, Arick was a presenterinthe National ScientificPaperMeeting of Clinical Psychology Association in Jakarta on 10-11 August 2017. For her, the key was to understand the responsibilities, establish good communication, and build self-motivation.
