UNAIR NEWS“ There were about 10,000 women of Indonesian Republic, consisting of TNI, female police and a combination of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) from ministries and agencies, Satpol PP, Tagana, Student Regiment, Scouts and various women’s organizations gathered for a ceremony to commemorate Kartini™s Day 2018, at Monas Square, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 25.
The ceremony was presided by President Joko Widodo as the ceremony inspector and the commander of the ceremony was Colonel CHK Tetty Melina who serves as Commander of Center for Women’s Army Corps Education.
One of the interesting thing in the event was the involvement of one of the best alumnas of 51¶¯Âþ serving as Head of the Association of Dental Medicine Alumni Family (IKAGI) UNAIR, First Admiral TNI drg.RA Nora Lelyana, MH, Kes., who was appointed as head of committee for the event that morning.
First Admiral TNI drg.Nora Lelyana is the head of the Navy’s Health Service who advised all women through the event that it was a right momentum to unite and show the strengths of Indonesian women.
”ÌýAlhamdulillah, I am grateful to be an alumni of UNAIR, together with the highest element of the nation, Inspector of Ceremony, President Joko Widodo managed to attend the event which ran smoothly and successfully. It also broke the world record for being able to present 10,977 women in one location,” said Nora.
The ceremony themed “Indonesia Women Unites Towards Strong State Defense” also presented various preliminary activities in collaboration with Working Cabinet of the Indonesian Republic, Dharma Pertiwi, Kemala Bhayangkari Foundation, Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana, Jalasenastri and Pia Ardhya Garini.
The event was also enlivened by attractions of TNI soldiers and police officers who presented a performance on the struggles of Admiral Keumalahayati and RA Kartini.A total of 150 personnel presented a rifle drill, 22 personnel performing martial arts, 15 personnel presented a parade of horseriding, 35 personnel parading with motorcycles, 35 personnel parachuting, and 63 personnel performed drums show.
On that occasion, Nora did not forget to convey that her success with the entire team of organizers was inseparable from the spirit of korsa and the spirit of devotion of “Kartini Modern” across the Republic.
“It is not easy to gather 10 thousand women on the President’s request within one week, but I am proud as the soul of Indonesian women is so strong that they can gather and be together this morning”, she concluded.
There were also the TNI Commander;TNI Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, three military chiefs of staff, Indonesian Police Chief, Police General Tito Karnavian, and the cabinet ministers.
