UNAIR NEWS Researchers of Faculty of Public Health (FKM) 51动漫 and United Nations for Children Fund (UNICEF) in collaboration with Health Agency of East Java province have released the result of survey on immunization implementation in coordination meeting between public figures in High Risk Communities, on Saturday, March 18.
It was held in Elmi Hotel, attended by 55 people from the community units (RW), head of wards and head of integrated service posts (Posyandu). It was held to avoid missed opportunity. According to the Head of Disease Prevention, Monitoring, Observation and Health Problem Management (P3PMK) Section of East Java Health Agency, Gito Hartono, missed opportunity often happen in slum and poor area.
淔orty percent of missed opportunityoften happens in slum and poor area. Missed opportunity is the time gap between Posyandu opening hours and the coming of the mother and child. Consequently, the children do not get complete periodical immunizations, said Gito.
淲hen the babies get incomplete immunization, they are vulnerable to PD3I (diseases preventable by immunizations), he added.
The researcher of FKM UNAIR AriefHargono, drg., M.Kes., and Kurnia Dwi Artanti, drg., M.Sc, elaborated the survey result on immunization implementation in high risk community in Surabaya, in Gading, Gundih, and Sidotopo.
In his elaboration, the researcher compared the data acquired in Sidoarjo, Malang, Pasuruan and Surabaya. The data presented was the percentage of population of a community who do not know immunizations, do not have Mother and Child Health Book and the reason of mothers for skipping immunizations.
淚n the survey method, there were some considerations. First, the scope of target such as which community we survey. Second, the site identification. The survey took a day as the target has been determined before. We also have a lot of members for the survey, from the cadres and provincial agency officers. All of them went to the field so it could be finished in a day, explained Arief.
