UNAIR NEWS The numerous cases of cervical cancer has inspired health clinics to hold free health check-ups. Health Service Center (PLK) collaborated with Kimia Farma Laboratory to hold pap smear test on Tuesday, April 25.
淧ap smear can detect cervical cancer with 90 percent accuracy and inexpensive cost. Therefore, we hold this for UNAIR staffs, said UNAIR PLK staffYeni Rohmah Husniyawati, S.KM, during interview in PLKB UNAIR.
The test specially for UNAIR staffs are opened from eight to five in the afternoon. 淧ap smear in PLK is also the program of Health Social Security Agency (BPJS) Surabaya. The objective is to ease up the examination for UNAIR academicians, said Eni Tri Murdianti, one of the PLK staffs.
Furthermore, the free check-up was a promotion of PLK clinic and a social service of the clinical staffs.
The event has attracted quite a lot of patients. Until three in the afternoon, there have been 43 employees participating in the check-up.
淭here have been 43 employees participating at three in the afternoon, but we reject some of them as they are not eligible, for the requirements, the patients should not be during their period, and they should not have sexual activity for the last two days, said Yeni.
Yeni said that every woman aged 18 and active sexually should take the test every year as cervical cancer usually happens to women aged 35-55.
