UNAIR NEWS Indonesian Student Sports Officials Board (BAPOMI) of East Java will organize 2017 Regional Student Sports Week (POMDA) of East Java. The opening of student sports competition as well as the regional selection for XV National Student Sports Week will be held in Basketball Stadium, Campus C UniversitasAirlangga Jl. Mulyorejo Surabaya, on Saturday, May 6.
Chief of BAPOMI of East Java (Jatim) Prof. Djoko Santoso, dr., Sp.PD-KGH., PhD., FINASIM., who is also Vice Rector II UNAIR is scheduled to open POMDA Jatim at the same time of Kempo Shorinji Championship 2017 淎irlangga Cup VI, for students in the province organized by Kempo UKM UNAIR.
滲efore Ramadan, this regional selection is expected to be over, so after Eid we can start to prepare for POMNAS held in Makassar this October, said Prof. Djoko Santoso when opening BAPOMI in UNAIR last week.
BAPOMI Jatim Secretary Dr. Edy Mintarto, M.Kes., during the technical meeting explained that BAPOMI is participating in the multi-event held every other years (POMNAS). Therefore, the competition held in POMDA/Selekda refer to the 14 sports in POMNAS 2017.
They are pencak silat, karate, futsal, badminton, tennis, kempo, tenis lapangan, kempo, sepak takraw (kick volleyball), and chess. The selection will be for athletic, basketball, indoor volleyball, petanque, swimming and full body contact martial art (tarung derajat).
POMDA for pencak silat will be held in UMM on May 15-17, karate will be held in UB May 10-11, futsal in ITS (no information), badminton in Unesa (postponed), tennis in UM on May 9-10, kempo in UNAIR on May 5-7, speak takraw in Unipa on May 22-23 and chess in Unej on May 16-18, 2017.
Athletic selection is held in Unesa on May 11, basketball is in Ubaya on May 14-16, indoor volleyball in UNAIR on May 29-30 and petanque in Unesa May 20-21, swimming in Unesa and tarung derajat in UNP on may 22-23, 2017.
POMDA and Selekda participants are obliged to meet the requirements, the sports can be followed by any students from universities in East Java but they can only participate in one kind of game.
漈hey need to keep in mind that not all POMDA or Selekda winners will be automatically chosen as POMNAS representatives in Makasar. They are determined based on the meeting of BAPOMI Jatim officials and POMDA committee, said Edy Mintarto.
The participants are students or sportsman representing universities in East Java. They must be registered in a Diploma, Undergraduate program and Master program of universities registered in Dikti, Kemenag and Ministry of Health and or other departments or institutes.
They should show that they are registered on PD-Dikti, they have photocopy of Student ID card (KTM), study plan card (KRS), also recommendation letter from university official of Student Affairs. The students are not suspended by the sport organization.
