(30/5/2023) | Airlangga Law Competition (ALC) is one of the biennial programs carried out by one of the Semi-Autonomous Bodies of FH UNAIR, namely the Airlangga Young Jurist Society (MYMA), and is the fourth time this event has been held, this year in collaboration with the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia. The ALC which MYMA FH UNAIR held, was held from 12 to 28 May 2023, with several series of events, namely legal debate competitions and scientific writing competitions.
Several parties attended the opening ceremony on Saturday (27/5/2023), including Dr. Enny Narwati S.H., M.H. as Wadek I and Dri Utari C. Rachmawati, S.H., LL.M. as Head of the Constitutional Law Section as well as MYMA FH UNAIR Advisor, Dr. Bisariyadi, S.H., LL.M., and Rima Yuwana, S.H., LL.M. as an expert assistant to Constitutional Justices. This event was attended by several universities in Indonesia, with two prestigious competitions, namely a legal debate competition and a scientific paper with a theme related to Constitutional Law.
“With the presence of this event, it is hoped that it will bring out the younger generation who are critical and concerned about the development of law in Indonesia, and the presence of this event can increase students’ competitive spirit.” said Dr. Enny Narwati.
Kharisma Putri as the Project Officer, and Angeline Regita as the Vice Project Officer who managed to make this event run well. “This event is one of the big events organized by MYMA FH UNAIR in collaboration with the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia; this event also cannot run alone without the help of other committee members; rather this event was successfully carried out.” Said the Project Officer of Airlangga Law Competition.
Apart from scientific writing competitions and legal debates, there was entertainment provided by the ALC committee to entertain the delegates before and after the round, involving students and alums of FH UNAIR, who also enlivened the event this time. At the closing ceremony, one of the constitutional judges, Dr. Wahiduddin Adam, S.H., M.A. was a speaker in delivering the constitutional webinar, a series of the ALC.
“With this event taking place, we are very grateful to all parties involved in the Airlangga Law Competition IV in 2023, especially to the Constitutional Court who want to work together to make this event a success. We hope this will be useful and increase the competitive spirit of law students in Indonesia.” Said the Vice Project Officer of Airlangga Law Competition.
The winner of the debate competition (1st Place) was Diponegoro University, and 2nd place won this time was won by the University of Indonesia, while for Scientific Writing, the 1st place was won by Gadjah Mada University and the 2nd place was won by the University of Indonesia.
