(20/5/2023) | With an almost perfect GPA of 3.99, Stefania Arshanty Felicia succeeded in becoming the 1st Valedictorian of the Undergraduate Program Faculty of Law UNAIR Period June 2023. As the 1st Valedictorian, Stefania was not only active in the academic field but also in the non-academic field. became an IISMA 2022 awardee at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
In addition, he is a recipient of the 2020 2022 Karya Salemba Empat scholarship and is active in organizations at the UNAIR Karya Salemba Empat Association. He has also won several achievements at the national level, one of which was Champion 1 in the Parahyangan Legal Competition Legal Debate in 2020 and 2021. In 2021, he also won the Best Oralist title at the Parahyangan Legal Competition.
The class of 2019 student who majored in constitutional law also often becomes a research assistant for lecturers in the fields of personal data, citizenship law, and coal waste. His interest in constitutional law made him write a thesis entitled “The Right to Submit a Petition as a Right to Participate in Government: A Comparative Study of Indonesia and South Korea”.
淎s part of the right to participate in government, the right to submit opinions to the government is guaranteed by law. This right can be interpreted as the right to submit a petition. Even so, the right to submit a petition does not yet have a legal basis, so there is no guarantee of rights for the people and, simultaneously, obliges the government to respond,” said Stefania.
Stefania explained that the legality of the right to file a petition had been regulated in South Korea as a constitutional right which is further regulated into various forms of the petition in statutory regulations. Therefore she uses a comparative approach in her thesis and compares the law in Indonesia with the law in South Korea. According to Stefania, there is a need to adjust the SP4N-LAPOR! Legal basis. Which has the same characteristics as the e-People petition in South Korea as a manifestation of the right to submit petitions in Indonesia in order to provide legal protection for people filing petitions in Indonesia.
After graduating, Stefania said she wanted to pursue a career before continuing her Master’s studies abroad. Currently, he has also been accepted to work in a law firm.
淚 want to first focus on seeking practical experience dealing with legal cases at law firms. I also want to work at a leading law firm in Indonesia and be able to contribute to public policy in the future, said the bronze medalist for Best Speaker at the 2020 Indonesian Student Debate Competition.
Stefania has gained a lot of valuable experiences during her studies. A supportive lecture environment, building friendships, and lecturers who help with academic and non-academic activities are why he chose to pursue an undergraduate education at FH UNAIR.
淐onsidering that I came from North Sulawesi and was trying to continue my studies at a public university in Java, the most suitable choice was UNAIR Faculty of Law because it is one of Indonesia’s best Faculty of Law and its strategic location. Unfortunately, I spent more time studying online during college because of the pandemic. Of the seven semesters, I only studied offline for almost two semesters; for the rest, I studied online and one semester abroad. But this is also quite interesting because I feel an unconventional college experience, and it gives me more opportunities because I can take part in many activities online,” said Stefania.
Stefania feels that FH UNAIR has made a lot of progress compared to when she was a new student. However, he hopes the UNAIR Faculty of Law can build more networks in the Jabodetabek area for internship and work opportunities.
