The election event for Cak and Ning Surabaya 2022 has been completed. The event, which was held from 27 August 2022 to 12 November 2022, was an event for selecting Surabaya City Tourism Ambassadors which was initiated by the Culture, Youth and Sports and Tourism Office of the Surabaya City Government in collaboration with the Cak & Ning Surabaya Association, Wonderful Indonesia, and Surabaya Sparkling.
One of the 2019 batch of students at the Faculty of Law, Airlangga University (FH UNAIR), Nakita Millenia, won the title Ning Favorite Surabaya 2022. In an interview with FH News on Wednesday (23/11/2022), the familiar student named Nia explained her duties after being selected as Ning’s Favorite 2022.
“My duties after being elected are various. There are protocols, guiding, and being a tourism ambassador too. But as tourism ambassadors, we are not only involved in the tourism sector. We are also involved in campaigns, for example, the anti-stunting campaign. We are also focusing on youth activities so that Surabaya youths know more about Surabaya itself,” said Nia.
Nia shared her preparations while participating in the Cak and Ning Surabaya 2022 election. She said the essential preparation was learning the ins and outs of the city of Surabaya. She also said that her preparation for participating in the Cak and Ning Surabaya 2022 elections was still related to his background as a UNAIR Faculty of Law student.
“In FH, we are trained to be aware of regulations and obey the law. So, the selection of Cak and Ning Surabaya was also the same. Its members also have a regulatory basis so that they are more disciplined and can coexist with stakeholders and Surabaya youth,” explained Nia.
Nia explained that all Cak and Ning Surabaya 2022 Tourism Ambassador finalists received the same benefits, regardless of their title. All finalists for Cak and Ning Surabaya Tourism Ambassadors 2022 receive benefits from developing self-quality, relationships, and insights.
“The first round of elimination starts on October 28 2022, until the Grand Final on November 12 2022. This is a full offline selection. The semifinals will be held at Balai Pemuda, while the Grand Final will be at the Heroes Monument,” she said.
She continued that there was a talent show event for the selection itself. Nia chose to sing at the talent show. Apart from that, he continued, during the selection period, which was held in offline quarantine, there were also public speaking tests, interviews, and other selections.
“The question is also about tourist attractions in Surabaya,” she added.
Nia explained her motivation to participate in the Cak and Ning Surabaya Tourism Ambassadors 2022 so that she would know more about the city of Surabaya. Apart from that, her friends also participated in this election event so she was encouraged to follow in the footsteps of her friends.
“Another benefit after becoming a finalist for Cak and Ning Surabaya is that we can also go sightseeing around Surabaya, visiting museums, and culinary tours. It’s enjoyable,” said Nia.
In closing, Nia conveyed her impression of the message after being selected as Surabaya’s Favorite Ning. She felt excited and grateful because he had many good friends and relations who taught her many things. She also encouraged FH UNAIR students interested in participating in the selection of Cak and Ning Surabaya Tourism Ambassadors next year.
“To my friends, if there is a chance, why not try it? As young people, we should not be lazy. Don’t be afraid to try first. Another tip is to do as much research as possible, prepare the files, and don’t forget always to be polite to anyone,” concluded Nia.
