USU Faculty of Law Collaborative Visit to UNAIR Faculty of Law: Observing FIBAA Accreditation Process

The Faculty of Law, University of North Sumatra (FH USU) held a visit and visitation to the Faculty of Law, 51动漫 (FH UNAIR) on Wednesday (23/11/2022). The visit, which was held in the context of establishing cooperation between the two universities, took place in the PBL Room, Building A FH UNAIR. USU’s Faculty of Law also came to observe the accreditation process that was taking place at UNAIR Faculty of Law.

Dr. Aktieva Tri Tjitrawati, S.H., M.Hum., said that all learning processes on campus would be checked during national and international accreditation. FH UNAIR, he continued, every time it is accredited it will be checked whether it has a mechanism that leads to the internationalization of the university or not.

“We must be able to ascertain how the learning processes can be carried out properly, starting from the input, how we accept students until we ensure how the market can accept our graduates,” said Dr. Aktieva.

Dr. Aktieva explained that UNAIR FH undergraduate study program was more focused on FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation). She continued that admission of FH UNAIR undergraduate students is managed by the ministry, not by FH UNAIR itself. Meanwhile, for UNAIR FH Masters students, the admissions are handled by UNAIR. .

“The accreditation assessor cares about fairness. Fairness from the process of acceptance, learning to student assessment. We have to be able to ensure that the processes we carry out are all fair regarding accreditation,” said Dr. Aktieva.

Dr. Aktieva said that before the ministry emphasized internationalization for universities in Indonesia, FH UNAIR had already gone through the process of internationalization through FIBAA accreditation for the government and law category. The heart of education is the curriculum. Therefore, the curriculum must be updated all the time.

UNAIR Faculty of Law Secretary, Ekawestri Prajwalita Widiati, S.H., LL.M., explained that there are at least four crucial things when undergoing the international accreditation process. First, he said, universities must be prepared with submitted curriculum documents to register for FIBAA. The curriculum document must be made concisely.

“For FIBAA, we made an overview document of the curriculum and what makes the curriculum unique to universities. The curriculum document describes the structure and is then submitted to the FIBAA register. The UNAIR Quality Assurance Agency then classifies it into several groups, “he explained.

At the end of the visit, the Dean of FH UNAIR, Iman Prihandono, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Ph.D., thanked the representatives of USU’s Faculty of Law for attending the collaborative visit to UNAIR Faculty of Law. He said that if there were any input that USU’s Faculty of Law could give to UNAIR Faculty of Law, he would be happy to receive and listen to this input.

“It is our collective duty to make our graduates useful for the nation,” concluded Iman.
