UNAIR NEWS– The abundance ofhoax news in the community was responded by Reasoning BSO of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of .They launched Meruwat Sangka Campaign on Thursday, November 16, an antihate speechsocial campaignin the digital world that can be accessed at.
The campaign is an initiative by FISIP Reasoning BSO in response to the phenomenon especially in addressing the youth’s passive response to what is happening in society.
Meruwat Sangka is intended to educate the importance of the critical and active attitude of youth in tackling hate speech and false news spread.In the campaign, several activities were introduced.
For example, Instagram&;FacebookPhoto Challenge, the youth will be invited topostthe antihate speechdeclarationandhoaxnewsreportthey found bytaggingthe Kemkominfo account.
Pilot project isalso held openly for youth in Surabaya aged 15-25 years aspioneers ofMeruwat Sangka, through a coaching to carry out active activities againsthate speech.Both through social media andstreet campaign.
“Thepilot project(Meruwat Sangka, ed) is an important campaign activity.Not only in educating youth in Surabaya, but also encouraging active action in reducing hoaxnews that could endanger social life, “said Anugrah Pratama as the head of FISIP Reasoning BSO.
With the campaign, the youth in Surabaya, especially students of 51, is expected to have knowledge of the dangers of hoax news and be active and participate actively in efforts to reduce the rampant phenomenon.
Meruwat Sangka campaign has gained over 7,700 support on theFacebookpage.The amount is expected to continue to grow, especially through the contribution of UNAIR students.
“It’s important for everyone, to intelligently filter the news that is being heard or thebroadcasted.The goal is promote healthy mind in socializing, “said the Indonesian duo Endah N Rhesa about Meruwat Sangka.
The campaign is also intended as a real effort from BSO FISIP Reasoning in implementing and upholding the value ofExcellence with Morality51 to create the excellent next generation.(*)
