UNAIR NEWS – 淧olitics is not only about power, but it is also about the resources of the country that should be allocated and distributed equally because one of the most important points of Politics is Justice. The statement was made by Prof. Kacung Marijan, Ph.D. the man usually addressed as Kacung is one of the professors in Political Sciences of 51动漫.
Kacung Marijan is quite well-known because he is active to write opinion in many mass media. He is also often asked as columnist on many newspapers to talk about social, political and cultural issues. From 1986 to present day, more than 300 articles have been published in newspapers and magazines. Besides the columnist, he is also an education activist and has written many journals and books.
淎t first I concern more to the Islamic politics because my thesis talks more about it, most of my articles talked about Islamic politics. Along the way I studied economic politics especially about public policy, Kacung said.
Kacung stated that Economic Politics he studies talks about resources and how to allocate it. According to him, the most important things in Politics is Justice, therefore, through Economic Politics, people are expected to understand how policies are allocated fairly and equally.
淧olitics talks how the power is used, Kacung said.
He added that from Politics can emerge theories which can be used as a reference to policies and intervention to the justice.
淭he prosperity is being hampered by imperfect competition, therefore, policies are made, Kacung explained.
The lecturer who teaches Comparative Politics is also often asked to be the speaker in seminars. His involvement in Politics is not just through his articles. In 1999, he established a Study Center of Human Rights and Democracy (PUSDEHAM) Surabaya.
His career is not only in politics, but also in cultures. The man born in Lamongan had ever been a general director of Education and Culture Ministry from 2012 to 2015 so he studied about it well with policies about it. He has often presided many cultural meetings of UNESCO.
Kacung had assumed important position in UNAIR such as member of academic senate, coordinator of partnership of developing country program, and chief of Advisory Board of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and head of Social Studies master program.
淗uman can檛 live without politics. Nowadays, many business hires bachelor from politics to analyze what檚 happening. The most important thing for us is to read and learn more, Kacung said.
