UNAIR NEWS In the beginning of his college days, there were times when Eggy Fajar Andalas felt shock with the courses taught at Literature and Culture Study Magister Program, Faculty of Humanities (FIB) 51动漫. The reason is that the lectures barely discuss about the topic he is keen on: oral literature. The condition urged him to study from several readings on his own. Due to his interest in looking into oral literature, he had to give up his bedtime to read books about oral literature.
Owing to his hard work, Eggy Fajar Andalan, SS., M.Hum successfully attained the title of best graduate on December 2016 Graduation. In a thesis entitled 淥ral Literature of Lahire Panji Act in Malang Mask Dance Show from Mangun Dharma Group, Eggy reviews about the Story of Panji which is orally spread and kept alive in the community or traditional art show.
淭herefore, my research focuses on reviewing about the oral Story of Panji in Malangan Mask Dance show, because the show is one of the cultural media to conserve, maintain, and record the Story of Panji, Eggy explained.
Even though he had to search and study about oral literature on his own, he was not discouraged to finish his thesis. His hobby of reading oral literature books enabled him to seek data references for his thesis.
淭o me, reading is an investment. The collection of knowledge that we have read will be useful, although not for now, but in the future, he stated.
In his family scope, Eggy is one of a kind. He always gets marginal grades compare to his siblings. There were times when his parents worried about his future. However, he proved it the opposite by being the best graduate with a GPA of 3.90.
淚 believe that success is not made for someone who has a high IQ, but willingness and hard work are differential factors from one person to another in being successful, he mentioned.
The most important thing which kept him motivated to do his college study was his parents. Eggy admitted that his spirit soared whenever he saw his parents smile. 淪imple things that I do, like displaying a picture of them on my laptop screen, keeping it in my wallet, and putting it on the wall of my dorm room, keep up my spirit if laziness strikes me when I study and work. Yes, by looking at their picture, he revealed.
Besides reading, Eggy is also fond of writing. He embodies his thoughts on oral literature in a book. This book has been printed by a publisher and is ready to be released in the next 2017. (*)
