UNAIR NEWS Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Choir or PSUA held their annual concert performance successfully. In the 2018 Annual Concert, Ajeng Della Sari as the head of the organizer said that Passepartout was chosen as the theme. Ajeng who is an active member of PSUA explained that the event was shown as a way to show and practice PSUA members’ skill to the public.
“This concert as a way to show and develop skills in the choir. Hopefully, with this concert, people out there remember the glory of PSUA in various competitions, “said Adel.
The performance of PSUA on Saturday night, March 17, was held at Gedung Kesenian Cak Durasim. There were nearly 400 people watching the performance of PSUA members.
The UNAIR choir performed numerous songs in the concert and the concert was divided into two sessions. There was Yosafah Rannu Leppong as a conductor and Bernadeth Vindi Januarica as the pianist.
“Because this concert was themed Passepartout which means 渁round the world, the choices of songs were from five continents in the world. In the first session, there was an Altar Benziyor of songs from Turkey, Les Djinns of France, and Flight Song popularized by Norwegian composers, “explained Adel.
In the final session, the concert which was started at 18:30 local times presented songs from Africa, Australia, America, to Mexico. However, it did not make PSUA forget to slip traditional Banjar songs before the concert ended.
There has been anxiety by singers since the rehearsal. The anxiety disappeared when they saw enthusiastic audience crowded the building since 16:30 pm although it was drizzling.
“We reinforce each other and trust each other to eliminate anxiety. Thankfully in the end, despite the drizzle, it does not stop the success of this event, “said Adel.
The organizers hoped that PSUA’s name would become more inherent in the community, especially music lovers. The community is enthusiastic about PSUA activities.
“We expect this concert makes people curious more with PSUA events. One of them, the closest Airlangga University Choir Competition 2018 (LPS-UA 2018) with national coverage, “said Adel. (*)
