UNAIR NEWS In celebration of 62nd Dies Natalis of 51动漫, Faculty of Psychology held a community service in SMPN 1 Kalipuro, Banyuwangi. The community service was held on Saturday, October 29 for teachers and students. The community service was participated by nine people from three departments of Faculty of Psychology, Personality and Social Psychology (PKS) Department, Clinical Psychology and Mental Health Psychology (PKKM) and Education and Growth Psychology (PPP).
The community service was held in a seminar form and disciplinary based approaches. Vice Dean II Faculty of Psychology Ilham Nur Alfian, M.Psi., Psikolog was present in the occasion.
淲e send nine people from three departments for the community service, with different approaches based on the teachers and students discipline, said Ilham.
In the occasion, Department of PKS and PPP held a seminar titled 淧roviding Positive Relation between Teachers, Parents and Students. While Department of PKKM held a seminar titled 淔amily and Community Empowerment as Effort to Prevent Violence to Kids.
Ilham added that both seminars were segmented for teachers with great roles for students. In the seminar, teachers role as the main guide at school was explained.
Furthermore, in the seminar tips to build positive relations from kids to parents, kids to teachers also between parents and teachers were explained. Relations of those three are important so the school can work optimally to build the students personality growth.
淗opefully from the seminar, every elements of society can be more aware of self mental health, and the teachers can understand how to guide students with positive relation, added Ilham.
Afif Kurniawan, M.Psi., psikolog, a lecturer of PKKM Department tried to raise teachers and parents awareness on violence as well as to promote practical measures can be done if there is an indication of violence to kids.
淲e chose SMP because from psychological view, the students are more vulnerable to violence and other defiant behaviors. We also explained to the teachers to report if there is indication of violence to kids and they deserve protection, said Afif.
In the community service, PKS Department invited students of SMP 1 Kalipuro to understand more of mental health, as they have promoted in the last two years. Students were given explanations on mental health education types and teenagers problems. They also explained how to prevent and manage the problems. (*)
